How to Apply

Applying for homestay is fast and simple!

Tell us about you! Fill out the USH homestay application online. Homestay is based on availability and your application informs our staff of your preferences. We must have your payment information filled out in the application to process the application fee and security deposit. Please go to Prices & Schools and select your school to view the application fee.

Confirmation will be sent!After you submit your application, USH will immediately send you with confirmation and further instructions. If your application is incomplete, we will notify you at this time. Failure to complete the application process will result in your application being cancelled. Application fee and security deposit is nonrefundable. If you have any questions please contact us anytime!

Your new home in the U.S.A.! Once USH has arranged your homestay and has received your 4 weeks payment, we will send you an email with all of your homestay information including details about your host, address, phone number, homestay guidelines, etc. You will also receive an invoice stating any remaining housing fees.

Move in day! Move in day is an exciting day: you will meet your host, have an opportunity to explore your new neighborhood, and settle into your new home! To make sure your host knows your move in time, please email USH with your arrival time at least 10 days in advance of your arrival. You can request airport transfer service while you apply or on our website. You may request this airport transfer service up until 5 days before your arrival.

Remember, you are a guest in your host's home and you will need to follow USH guidelines as well as your host's house rules.

Host Change: If for any reason you wish to request a change of hosts, you must contact USH within the first week to provide the reasons you want to change. Hosts are paid in cycles every four weeks. If the request to change is after the first week and we have already sent the housing payment to your host, you may have to wait until after the four week cycle has ended to move into a new homestay. Homestays are based on availability.

A third homestay accommodation is subject to $150 administrative fee.
